Patiala, May 15 - Bike-riding robbers looted 6 lakhs from the cash collector in Ram Nagar Sainiy village under Shambhu police station. Before carrying out the incident, the assailants first attacked him with a rod and then escaped with a bag containing cash. This incident took place on May 13. The assailants hit cash collector Pawan Kumar on the head with an iron rod due to which he became unconscious.

Pawan Kumar, a resident of Vikas Nagar Rajpura, gave his statement to the police after regaining consciousness The police have registered an FIR late at night, in which two unidentified persons have been mentioned. Pawan used to go alone with cash from the village. According to the police FIR, Pawan Kumar works as a cash collector in Radiant Cash Management Company. When he was returning from visiting different villages and collecting cash from the people as usual, two persons riding a bike hit him on the head near village Ramnagar Sainiya. Due to the injury, he fell down unconscious.
Shambhu Police Station SHO Amanpal Singh Virak said that there is no CCTV camera at the place where the incident took place. This incident happened on the way to the village, so the location of the villages connecting this road is being checked so that the accused can be identified by examining the CCTV cameras installed there.
