Department of Punjabi, University of Punjab, Chandigarh organized a condolence meeting regarding the demise of Padma Sri Dr. Surjit Patar, the head poet of Punjabi. After that, everyone present in the condolence meeting shared their memories with Patar Sahib. On this condolence meet, Dr. Yograj, Head of Department and Vice-Chairman of Punjab Arts Council, remembered his tireless literary contribution and efficiency. The president of Punjabi Sahitya Akademi Ludhiana and Prof. Dr. Sarabjit Singh of the department spoke about Patar Sahib's talented and amiable personality and the shock to the Punjabi literary world with his passing away. On this occasion, Dr. Uma Sethi, Dr. Akwinder Tanvi, all the department staff and research students were present.
