Rupnagar, May 14 - BJP candidate for Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha Dr Subhash Sharma and Akali Dal candidate Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra filed their nomination papers today at Rupnagar.

Party leaders including Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha in-charge Kewal Singh Dhillo, Punjab Joint Treasurer Sukhwinder Singh Goldi and District BJP President Sanjeev Vashishth on the occasion of submission of nomination papers by Subhash Sharma. A large crowd of workers gathered. On this occasion, the BJP candidate also took out a road show in Ropar, during which the roads and traffic were also affected.

On this occasion, Mr. Subhash Sharma said that he has entered the election campaign on the issue of ending the mining mafia from Anandpur Sahib constituency, developing the constituency and bringing large employment-oriented projects here and he is getting a lot of support. He said that during the last 10 years, India has become a superpower under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is necessary for the BJP to come to power for the progress of the country.

Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra arrived in Ropar in the form of a large convoy with party president and former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal along with the party's senior leadership and Akali leaders and workers from different areas of the constituency. On this occasion, Professor Chandumajra said that Akali Dal is the only party which is capable of opposing the bullying done by the Central Government from time to time with Punjab. He said that the leaders of BJP, Congress and AAP at the behest of their central leadership have been putting the interests of Punjab behind and this has always been the situation. He said that Akali Dal is contesting the elections on the issue of security of Punjab and development of the state and they are getting a lot of love from the people.
