Kapurthala (Paigam E Jagat), the foremost organization of writers of the area, the Creation Center Kapurthala (Reg.), expressing deep sorrow over the untimely death of the world famous poet Dr. Surjit Patar, organized a condolence meeting at the office of the center, Virsa Vihar Kapurthala. In which famous penmen of the district attended!

The president of the center, Shair Kanwar Iqbal Singh (Member Punjab State Council of Science and Technology Department, Chandigarh), said that Dr. Surjit Patar Sahib, who has reached the title of Padma Shri for his honorable achievements in the literary field, was awarded Punjabi Sahitya Akademi Award, Panchanand Award, Anad Kavya Samman, Sahitya Akademi Award, Saraswati Samman, Gangadhar Samman, National Poetry Award, etc. He had the honor of serving in high positions like Chairman of Kala Parishad Chandigarh and President of Punjabi Sahitya Akademi!
