Hoshiarpur - Under Election Commission of India's awareness program 'Sweep' (Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation), an awareness program was organized at Government Senior Secondary Smart School Bassi Kalan. The sweep was conducted under the chairmanship of Nodal Officer Jatinder Singh, ADC-cum-Returning Officer Constituency 044-Chabbewal Rahul Chaba was present as the chief guest in this fair.
Signature campaigns and selfie points were also created by the sweep team for vote awareness. At the inauguration of the fair, Assistant Registration Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Rahul Chaba appealed to all voters to play their role for a strong democracy by using their vote and to ensure 100 percent voting. He said that under the sweep program, awareness activities are being conducted especially for new and young voters to exercise their right to vote and the importance of voting.
On this occasion, while giving information about the election process to the group of people, he said that the Indian Constitution has provided a great right to all the adult citizens of the country in the form of the right to vote. All registered voters must participate in every election process and cast their vote. He gave information to the students regarding voter registration and encouraged them to get voter ID cards.
