Giving this information, Returning Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal said that today Davinder Singh son of Darshan Singh, Basant Vihar, Hoshiarpur has filed nomination papers as an independent candidate. He said that in this way a total of 2 nominations have been filed for the Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency so far.

           He said that apart from holidays on May 11 and 12, nominations can be filled till May 14. He said that the nominations can be filed tomorrow, May 10, as the holiday of Lord Parashuram Jayanti does not come under the Negotiable Instruments Act-1881. He said that on May 11, the second Saturday and May 12 being a holiday, nomination papers cannot be submitted. He said that the nomination papers will be scrutinized on May 15 and the candidates will be able to withdraw their nomination papers till May 17. He said that voting will be held on June 1 from 7 am to 6 pm and counting of votes will be done on June 4. He said that the election process will be completed on June 6, 2024.
