Addressing the protest, Union President Rajeev Sharma, General Secretary Jagdeep Singh, Savinder Singh Gola, Ravi Maini, Deepak Sharma, Madam Nirmal Kaur, Amrik Singh Rajla, Prem Singh Superintendent said that the government made this announcement regarding pay parity on September 1, 1978. had done that the employees of the aided colleges will also get pay-parity on the same lines as the non-teaching staff of government colleges. But the government has been giving 6th pay commission and benefits to the non-teaching employees of government colleges for the last 2 years, while they have been deprived of this benefit by pushing them.

The leaders said that instead of implementing the 6th Pay Commission, the government is adopting a policy of procrastination by repeatedly demanding data from the concerned colleges. He said that in this regard, he has also held a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education and the Minister of Finance of the AAP government of Punjab, but nothing has been received except the Laras.

On this occasion, Harvinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Ravinderjit Singh Virak, Bachitar Singh, Tejinder Singh Senior Lecturer, Navdeep Singh etc. said that there are about 2600 vacancies in these colleges, out of which only 825 employees are working, while The government has banned the recruitment of remaining vacancies. On this occasion, the leaders submitted their demand letter to Deputy Director Kamana Gupta.

The leaders announced that if the Punjab government did not accept their demands soon, they would be forced to intensify the struggle. On this occasion, Amrik Singh, President of Punjabi University Patiala Wing, Manoj Pandey, Parminder Singh, non-teaching staff of DAV College Chandigarh, Jaswinder Singh Manku, Naveen Puri, Ravinderpal Singh Gurdev Singh, Pradeep Singh, Tejinder Singh Senior Lecturer Assistant and a large number of employees were present.
