DSP City 2 Mr. Harsimran Singh Ball, who is leading the operation on this occasion, said that the slums built at this place were becoming a shelter for anti-social elements and there were also 4 places for selling narcotics. Apart from this, anti-social elements used to go and hide in these slums after committing an incident. He said that in this regard, the police had given a notice to these slum dwellers to vacate the place and requested the officials of Gamada to vacate the place, after which Gamada sent its officials today and conducted this operation. is
He said that during this operation, the residents of the village have also given full support and trolleys have also been provided by the villagers to transport the goods of the people living here to their specified place. He said that before the operation, the slum dwellers were asked to pack their belongings and after they removed the belongings, these structures were removed and the place leveled.
On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Councilor Mr. Harjit Singh Bholu said that some people were selling drugs in these slums and they had become a haven for drug addicts. He said that the villagers have been demanding for a long time that these slums should be removed from here and cleaned and today when this operation was done, the villagers have also given full support in this.
He said that the people are suffering from the problem of drug selling in the village and two persons have been arrested by the police under the leadership of SHO of Sohana Mr. Jaspreet Singh. With which the people have confidence that the black drug business in the village will be stopped by the police. It is worth mentioning here that yesterday the residents of Sohana village demanded to take necessary action to control the sale of Chitta and other drugs in the village and warned of road jam if they do not do so. After which the police and administration have come into action and it is being welcomed by the villagers.
