The Deputy Commissioner has asked the people not to make unnecessary or panic purchases of diesel and petrol from petrol pumps, necessary steps are being taken to ensure continuous supply of oil in the district, so people should not gather at the pumps to buy oil. . The Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with the district officials, sales officers of oil companies including Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and owners of petrol pumps at the District Administrative Complex. He said that these companies have been asked to ensure through internal arrangements that petrol-diesel and LPG supply is not affected due to transporters' strike. He said that the district administration will provide all kinds of support to the companies to facilitate supply to the petrol pumps.
Sakshi Sahni said that efforts are being made by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to resolve this issue soon. The Deputy Commissioner also warned that hoarding by petrol pumps or by any person will not be tolerated. On the occasion of the meeting, Secretary RTA Naman Markan, SP Harbant Kaur, Food and Civil Supplies Controller Dr. Ravinder Kaur, ACFA Rakesh Garg etc. were also present.
