Patiala, August 2 - Youth Congress Patiala district president Sanjeev Sharma Kalu and his colleagues staged a dharna outside the Municipal Corporation and raised slogans over the recent 2 deaths due to the outbreak of diarrhea and the alleged lax performance of the Municipal Corporation and its officers.
On this occasion, Sanjeev Kalu accused the health minister that diarrhea spread in many areas of his constituency and two people died due to drinking contaminated water and about 300 people, children and women got sick and were admitted to different hospitals. He further said that "AAP" government has completely failed in Punjab. All over Patiala, roads and drains are broken, street lights are not lit, many accidents have occurred due to collisions with stray animals and many people have lost their precious lives.
There are piles of garbage in Patiala urban and rural areas, which are not being taken care of by the corporation. After the dharna, Sanjeev Sharma Kalu and his colleagues expressed their protest by locking the Municipal Corporation. Taking immediate action by the police, Sanjeev Kalu was arrested and taken to Officer Colony police post, which was strongly condemned by the Youth Congress leaders.
