Garhshankar August 17 - The Garshankar unit of the Indian Medical Association held a strong protest against the tragic incident of first rape and then murder of a woman doctor in Calcutta and demanded from the government. That the culprits responsible for this incident should be hanged on the gallows as soon as possible.
Giving information in this regard, IMA Secretary Dr. Ashok Dhami said that this protest was held under the leadership of Dr. Jang Bahadur Singh Rai Pradhan.
The protesters said that the health workers are feeling completely insecure He said that the Calcutta incident created an atmosphere of fear and dread.
 On this occasion, the protestors observed a 2-minute silence for the departed soul, and demanded from the government to ensure the safety of the employees providing health services.
Along with today's protest, all the doctors associated with IMA kept their work completely closed And also it was announced that if strict action is not taken as per their demand then the health services will be stopped for an indefinite period.
In today's protest Dr. Jang Bahadur Singh Rai, Dr. Ashok Dhami, Dr. Jaswant Singh, Dr. Nirmal Singh, Dr. Ramanpreet Kaur, Dr. Rita Dhami, Dr. Joginder Singh, Dr. Avtar Singh, Dr. Mayur, Dr. Avinav, Dr. Raghav, Dr. Rajat , Dr. Navpreet and other health personnel were also present.
