Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of State Vigilance Bureau said that the said accused has been arrested on the complaint of Harinder Singh, resident of village Dulba, district Patiala.
He further said that the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the said accused demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 from him in exchange for transferring the tubewell electricity connection owned by his grandfather in his name.
The spokesperson further said that after the preliminary investigation, the Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap and arrested the said employee by accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses. He further informed that a case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Patiala Range and further investigation of the matter is going on.
