
Spread this message to every household, never get addicted to drugs: Shri Chaman Singh
Nawanshahr - Red Cross De-addiction Centre Nawanshahr organised an awareness camp in village Khatkar Kalan (Sardar Bhagat Singh Nagar) under "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan". It was jointly chaired by Mrs. Pinky (Anganwadi worker) and Mrs. Rajni (MGNREGA Mate).

On this occasion, Project Director Mr. Chaman Singh ji addressed the gathering and said that an anti-drug awareness camp has been organised under "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan". First of all, he told about the establishment of Red Cross. After this, he told in detail about the life of the first founder of Red Cross organisation Harni Diuna ji and also told about the biography of Bhai Ghanai ji that how he set a true example of serving humanity by giving water to enemy soldiers. Today, the youth of Punjab are badly trapped in the trap of drugs, whereas the history of Punjab is not like this. He also spoke in detail about the life and ideology of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and told that the credit for India's independence goes to Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh.
He said that to save our children from the slavery of drugs, we have to take full care of them. We have to become the protectors of our own home. He also said that the youth are becoming victims of drug addiction. He shared some tips to identify the youth who have become addicted to drugs. He said that we should also reach out to schools and colleges so that students do not get trapped in the wrong company and fall into the clutches of drugs. Youth should be connected to good literature and sports so that the youth do not get trapped in this quagmire.
The land of Punjab has always given birth to brave warriors, but some people are pushing the youth on the path of drugs for their own benefit and putting the future of Punjab in danger. Due to drugs, the youth are suffering from many diseases like black jaundice, AIDS, mental illness, impotence etc. He said that drug addiction is a mental disease, we should take care of our food and drink, keep the body healthy with a balanced diet, so that the mind will also remain healthy and read the biographies of heroes and warriors and take guidance from them and live an ideal life. He said that the power of youth has an important contribution in the development of society and the country. Let us not waste our lives in addiction and participate in the development of the country and take the country on the path of change. He told the parents to take special care of their children. Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, awareness should start from your home. Children are ours and it is the responsibility of the parents to take care of them. They should keep company with elders and great people so that they can get knowledge of the test of life. While we fulfill other needs of the children, books should also be taken and it will be beneficial to talk to them on special days.
Addressing the seminar, Ms. Kamaljit Kaur (Counselor) gave information about the Red Cross De-addiction Center and said that we treat drug addicts absolutely free of cost and they are not beaten in any way and are encouraged in every way to provide a family environment and ways to stay away from addiction and quit addiction. Any person can voluntarily come to the center and stay in the center for a month to quit his addiction.
On this occasion, Mrs. Pinky (Anganwad worker) presented her views and made people aware about de-addiction. He also thanked the Red Cross team and said that we should adopt the suggestions given by the Red Cross team in our lives so that we can avoid evils like drug addiction. He said that he will continue to organize awareness camps against drug addiction in future as well. On this occasion, Suman Jeet Kaur (Asha worker), Mangatram (watchman), Gurdev Kaur, Resham Kaur, Paramjit Kaur, Nirmala, Kamala Rani, Bhajan, Gurbaksh, Balveer, Dayal Ram and other villagers were present in large numbers.
