Patiala, May 29 - Shiromani Akali Dal candidate from Patiala Assembly constituency NK Sharma has shared facts and figures related to the scam in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) with the media and claimed a huge scam of Rs 7 thousand crore. He alleged that this money is going into the pockets of Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann and the state power minister.
Addressing a press conference along with former minister Surjit Singh Rakhra and former chairman Tejinderpal Singh Sandhu and Powercom Outsourced Technical Office Workers Association Punjab president Simranjit Singh Hisowal at Patiala Media Club here today, NK Sharma said that about 8 thousand employees of PSPCL have been outsourced through companies like Teleperformance Global Private Limited and Vision Plus Security Control Private Limited Delhi. He said that on paper the salary of these employees has been shown as Rs 11409 on DC rate, whereas in reality they are being paid only Rs 7300.
He said that Rs 4309 house rent is being taken from PSPCL in the name of these employees. Which is going to the accounts of Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO and Powercom Management through companies. He said that similarly, PSPCL is taking oil allowance of Rs 2500 per employee per month. But instead of giving it to the employees, it is going to the company. He said that similarly, employees have to pay EPF on the entire salary but it is being given only for Rs 7300, whereas by making fake receipts from PSPCL, EPF is being taken according to the entire salary. He said that this scam is worth about Rs 426 crore. He said that similarly, huge loot is being done in the name of purchase of poles, electric wires, transformers and other goods purchased by PSPCL. He said that in Haryana, the price of a 9 meter pole is Rs 2500, but in Punjab it is being taken for Rs 5200. Similarly, an 11 meter pole is being taken for Rs 5200, here it is being bought for Rs 10976. He said that in this purchase and sale, about 6 thousand crore rupees are being looted directly.
NK Sharma also said that the electricity company has purchased 2 lakh smart meters, in whose purchase also a big scam has taken place and Enforcement Bathinda has confirmed in its report that these meters run at a speed of 9 percent. This means that when a consumer consumes 260 units, the meter shows 300 units.

He said that by looting people's money, the power company is being shown to be in profit. He announced that he will complain about this scam to the Governor of Punjab and will demand a CBI inquiry into the entire matter. On this occasion, Pradhan Simranjit Singh Hissowal said that he has given written complaint about this scam to PSPCL management as well as Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, but no action was taken at any level for two years.
On this occasion, NK Sharma also told that two years ago the number of regular employees in PSPCL was 32000, which has now come down to 30 thousand, while 8 thousand employees have been hired through outsourcing.
