SAS Nagar, September 6 Local Sector 88-89 and 95-96 intersections are now becoming a bloody intersection due to the daily occurrence of road accidents where people lose their lives and property due to the daily occurrence of road accidents. Jagjit Singh, a young man of village Lakhnore, died in a road accident at this place recently. Apart from this, in another accident that took place here, Kulwant Singh Bhagomajra, a resident of village Bhagomajra, was seriously injured and is still undergoing treatment.

Social worker leader and former councilor Mr. Paramjit Singh Kahlon said that lights have been installed at this place but they are not working. He said that people go at high speed in this intersection and the fence that has been put up on the divider in the middle of the road has turned into bushes and because of these tall bushes, the motorists do not know the traffic coming from the other side, due to which it is often there. Accidents happen. They demanded that a big square should be built at this place and the bushes should be cleaned to prevent accidents from happening here.

In this regard, representatives of Panchayats of Bhago Majra and Lakhnore villages of this region and the villages of the area Baljinder Kaur Block Committee member Bhago Majra, Sarpanch of Bhago Majra Gurpreet Kaur, Official Panch of Lakhnore Prabhjot Kaur, Nirmal Singh (former Sarpanch Manak Majra), Balwinder Singh Lakhnore, Dalveer Singh, Avtar Singh, Inderjit Singh, Rupinder Singh, Shawaran Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Naib Singh, Bahadur Singh, Kulwant Singh from Constituency MLA Mr. By writing a letter to Kulwant Singh, he has demanded to make appropriate arrangements to stop the frequent accidents at this place.

The letter states that the road from Sector 88-89 and 95-96 goes from Sohana to Sector 88-89 and further to village Bhago Majra and Bairampur. Children of Bhago Majra and Bairampur and adjoining villages, who are Sohana and S. A. They study at S. Nagar, they go on bicycles through this route every day. Similarly, people going to work at SAS Nagar and Chandigarh, mostly poor labourers, come and go through this route every day.

It has been said in the letter that the population is continuously increasing in this area, due to which the traffic is also increasing rapidly and road accidents are also happening a lot. The roads in this area are very open and clean. There are no speed bumps on the said square and there is a fence between the roads for greenery. Accidents often happen in this square and many of the accidents have been very serious. Therefore, school children and other passers-by are always at risk of loss of life and property.

They have demanded that speed breakers should be installed at the intersections of sectors 88-89 and 95-96 so that the speed of vehicles can be controlled and a fence of about 20-25 feet should be removed from the existing fence so that the traffic can be moved. The oncoming vehicles should be visible to passers-by.
