Organizing a lecture in Sanskrit Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh

Chandigarh 17 September 2024- A lecture was organized today under the joint aegis of the Department of Sanskrit and Srimanta Shankar Dev Chair of Punjab University Chandigarh. The coordinator of the program was Professor Yojana Rawat and the keynote speaker was Dr. Ratul Chandra Bohra. He expressed his views on the topic "Literary and Cultural Contribution of Srimanta Shankardev".

He expressed his views on the topic "Literary and Cultural Contribution of Srimanta Shankardev". He said that Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev was an Assamese saint-scholar. The study of his life and works is of great academic importance. The academic, cultural and literary contribution made by him continues to influence modern creative works even today. The thoughts, cultural contribution and philosophy of Srimanta Shankardev became an integral part of the lives of the Assamese people. Therefore, researchers have felt the need to review the contribution of Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev in the field of Assamese literature and culture in terms of its academic importance for uplifting the moral, spiritual, value based thinking, character building and personality development of the future generation of people. Today our main objective is to study about the contribution of Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev in the field of society in relation to Assamese literature and culture. Professor Yojna Rawat from Srimanta Sankardev Chair, Head of Sanskrit Department Professor V.K. Alankar, teachers Dr. Tomir Ji, Dr. Sunita Ji, Dr. Vikram Ji and Dr. Vijay Bhardwaj Ji from Dayanand Chair were present in this program.
