Rajpura, July 27 - During the operation being conducted by the Punjab Police against drugs and illegal liquor, the police have recovered 100 bottles of liquor. Patiala SSP Mr. Varun Sharma said that under the leadership of Rajpura DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar, SHO Thana Sadar Rajpura Kirpal Singh Mohi and the police team during the blockade at village Uksi Jatta on Rajpura Sirhind Main (GT Road) During the search of the vehicle, 100 cases of liquor (1200 bottles) of English liquor have been recovered.
They said that canter driver Abhishek resident of village Hiatpura, district Amroha (UP) and his partner Gopal Sharma resident of village Tapugara tehsil Tijara (Rajasthan) admitted during interrogation that they had brought this liquor from Ludhiana and dumped it in Panipat. From where the supply was to be at Gujarat. The police arrested both of them and registered a case against them under Section 61/1/14 of the Excise Act. And Excise Inspector Harjinder Singh and Inspector Balkar Singh have been called to the spot and both are being interrogated thoroughly.
