School students were made aware about Dengue and Chikungunya

Patiala, July 27 - A special campaign for school students to be aware of dengue is being conducted during the month of July under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Goyal. In the same series today, Dr Sumeet Singh District Epidemiologist along with his team informed the students in the Government High School at Factory Area Patiala to protect themselves from the spread of diarrhea and dengue and chikungunya which can occur after the rainy season in the area.

In the same series today, Dr Sumeet Singh District Epidemiologist along with his team informed the students in the Government High School at Factory Area Patiala to protect themselves from the spread of diarrhea and dengue and chikungunya which can occur after the rainy season in the area.
Addressing the students, he explained that where and how the Aedes mosquito, which causes the spread of dengue fever, is born and we can avoid it only by taking a little precaution. Which is produced in our homes can spread not only dengue but also chikungunya and zika virus. They inspired the children not to allow water to stagnate after the rains around the school and their homes. And in the same way, dry the water stored in coolers, trays under pots and other junk items once a week so that mosquitoes do not get a chance to breed and spread this disease. Also gave information about the symptoms of dengue fever, its diagnosis and treatment. The students vowed that they will participate in the "Har Shukrwar - Dengue Te War" campaign launched by the Punjab government and will keep this in mind in their future endeavors.
The students took great interest and asked questions on this topic and also learned about the diarrheal disease spread due to poor water supply in the factory area and nearby areas. He said that if there is adulteration or contamination in the drinking water, then the Municipal Corporation Corporation should be contacted and corrected. And that water should not be used for drinking, it should be disinfected by putting chlorine tablets in the drinking water or it should be boiled and drunk. Whoever is complaining of diarrhea-vomiting should drink the solution of ORS given at home and seek medical advice at the nearest health center.
On this occasion, the school principal and other teachers, health department personnel, anti-larvae staff were also present. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Goyal said that such awareness campaigns are being conducted across the district under which similar information was given to school students in schools at Patdar and Rajpura today.
