Patiala, July 27 - BJP leaders Preneet Kaur and Jai Inder Kaur have strongly condemned the apathetic attitude of the Municipal Corporation and the Punjab Government towards the outbreak of diarrhea in Patiala. Preneet Kaur said, "The situation is alarming, more than 200 cases have been reported so far and 2 people have lost their lives. This loss could have been prevented with timely and effective measures."

Residents of Patiala, including New Yadavindra Colony, had complained about the supply of contaminated water several months ago but the Municipal Corporation failed to take action, putting hundreds of people at risk. Preneet Kaur said, "The MC has started digging the pipeline only after the outbreak of diarrhea spread. Which exposes their disregard for human life. This negligence has caused widespread suffering and the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab Government is still silent on this."
They have demanded strict action against the Municipal Corporation officials responsible for the negligence and said that the family of the deceased should be given adequate compensation. The affected people should be treated free of cost.
BJP Punjab Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur criticised the municipal corporation and the government, saying that this sad situation has arisen due to the government's incompetence and apathy, which has failed to provide basic amenities like clean water. "I appeal to the Punjab government to take concrete steps to resolve this crisis and alleviate the suffering of the residents. This situation is very worrying, especially when Health Minister Balbir Singh himself is in the district and still no proper action is being taken," Jai Inder Kaur said.
