Lifting of wheat bought in markets should be speeded up: Komal Mittal

Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal visited Dana Mandi Hoshiarpur and instructed the procurement agencies to speed up the lifting of wheat purchased in the mandis. Meanwhile, he instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the farmers who came to sell wheat in the markets do not face any kind of problem. Meanwhile, SDM Hoshiarpur Preetinder Singh Bains was also present with him.

The Deputy Commissioner said that till now 19153 metric tons of wheat has arrived in the markets of the district and 18710 metric tons of wheat has been purchased. He said that till now Pangrain has purchased 6665 metric tons of wheat. Similarly, 2600 metric tons of wheat has been purchased by Markfed, 3181 by Pansap, 3718 by Punjab State Warehouse Corporation, 1925 by FCI and 621 metric tons by traders.
The Deputy Commissioner said that one grain of wheat will be bought in the markets. He appealed to the farmers and said not to harvest wheat with combines at night. He said that the environment should be protected from pollution by not setting fire to wheat waste and grain. He said that orders have already been issued in this regard.
