SAS Nagar, January 3 - Rage Anti-Narcotics cum Special Operation Cell Camp at Phase-7 Mohali has arrested 1 heroin smuggler with 50 grams of heroin. Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the department said that a special campaign is being conducted against smugglers and bad elements on the instructions of ADGP Rupnagar Range Range S. Jaskaran Singh. During which last night Rage Anti-Narcotics cum Special Operation Cell Camp at Phase-7 Mohali team under the leadership of SI Sukhwinder Singh blocked the road going from village Bairampur Bhagomajra to village Maujpur side.

He said that meanwhile an I-20 car was coming from village Bairampur Bhagomajra side towards village Maujpur which was signaled to stop by torch light. But the driver of the car, seeing the police party standing in front, immediately turned his car to the right towards Khatan. Which went further and fell into the canal in Khatans and closed.

The spokesperson said that the driver of the said car was arrested by the police party Who during interrogation gave his name as Jatinder Singh alias Chhota resident of Bairampur Bhagomajra Police Station Sohana District SAS Nagar. On searching the car, 50 grams of heroin was recovered between the two front seats of the car near the gear box.

He said that a case has been registered under Section 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act at the Sohana police station. And Jatinder Singh alias Chhota has been arrested. He said that Jitinder Singh alias Chhota has several felony cases of murder, affray, weapons act, robbery.

He said that this person has been produced in the honorable Mohali court and remanded in police custody. The police will question Jitinder Singh from where he brought this heroin and to whom he was going to sell it.
