Death of two pilgrims from Punjab during Manimhesh Yatra

Chamba, September 12 Two persons have died during the sacred Mani Mahesh Yatra in northern India. Both the deceased were residents of Punjab. Jarnail Singh died of lack of oxygen in the early morning, while Ravikant died of a fall at Hudsar late evening. Ravikant's body was recovered from a deep trench this morning. According to information received, Ravikant, a resident of Amritsar, Punjab, fell into a deep ditch in Hudsar last evening. Due to the thick darkness and deep pit at night, they faced difficulty in searching. In the morning, his body was taken out of the pit by the rescue team and post-mortem is being conducted at Bharmaur Hospital.

The second deceased has been identified as Jarnail Singh (53), a resident of Valsuha Faridnagar, Pathankot. He had reached Manimhesh Yatra on Sunday evening with some of his friends. According to the information received, they faced difficulty in breathing due to lack of oxygen in Gaurikund late at night. He informed this to his colleagues. Friends took Jarnail Singh to a nearby health center. After some time he died. After this, the rescue team of Mountaineering Institute brought the dead body to Bharmaur. After the post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the heirs.
