The AIG said that preliminary investigation revealed that both the arrested persons wanted to gain fame. They had created profiles on various social media platforms where they displayed arms and ammunition to lure youth and radicalize them to work for the gang. They said that these two youths used to offer high-end lifestyle to innocent youths by promising good amount of money in return.
He said that a case under Sections 25, 25(6) and 25(7) of the Arms Act and Sections 384 and 120B of the IPC has been registered at the SSOC Mohali Police Station. The two accused have been remanded in three-day police custody after being produced in a local court and further inquiries are underway to trace and nab other members of the module.
