Punjab Engineering College Celebrated Rashtriya Hindi Diwas with Poetic Flair

The event was organized under the patronage of the Hindi Editorial Board (HEB) of the institute and featured an impressive lineup of distinguished speakers and poets.

The event was organized under the patronage of the Hindi Editorial Board (HEB) of the institute and featured an impressive lineup of distinguished speakers and poets. Dr. Ashok Nadir, Dr. Aneesh Garg, Dr. Santosh Garg, and other esteemed dignitaries from the literary world graced the occasion, drawing a large crowd of eager students. The guests were warmly welcomed with floral bouquets.
The Director of PEC, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, along with the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. D.R. Prajapati addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of the Hindi language and its relevance in today’s world. Prof. Bhatia highlighted the significance of Hindi Diwas, celebrated annually on 14th September, and reminded students of the rich heritage Hindi holds as one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.
Dr. Santosh Garg delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging students to live with a clear vision and purpose. Her soulful songs and ghazals captivated the audience, infusing the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm. Dr. Ashok Nadir, an alumnus of PEC, shared his insights on the relevance of Hindi Diwas, advising the audience on incorporating their mother tongue into everyday life while maintaining a balanced approach towards Western languages and cultures, especially in professional settings.
Dr. Aneesh Garg mesmerized the audience with his poetry and ghazals, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone present. The members of the Hindi Editorial Board also showcased their literary talents, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.
As part of the celebration, a special tribute was paid to the legendary poetess Smt. Amrita Pritam, with an exhibition dedicated to her life and literary contributions. The event also honored the winners of the "Khwaabo ki Udaan" poetry competition—Shivansh, Harleen Kaur, Viraj, and Debayan—who were recognized for their exceptional work.
The esteemed guests were felicitated with shawls, mementos, and classic literary works of Poetess Amrita Pritam as tokens of appreciation.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Lokesh, with over 200 students in attendance, who left with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the significance of Hindi Diwas.
