That the Punjab government has decided to take strict action against the parents of such children. They can face a fine of up to Rs 25,000 and 3 years imprisonment.
The letter has been issued by ADGP Traffic and Road Safety Force. It said that if children below the age of 18 are caught driving two-wheelers or four-wheelers, action will be taken against their parents.
Absolute ban on minors driving Through this letter, instructions have been given to the SSP and Commissioner of every district of Punjab to strictly follow the traffic rules. A campaign is being run by the society to make children and parents aware to follow traffic rules.
That the use of two-wheelers and four-wheelers by children below the age of 18 years should be strictly prohibited. On this occasion, promotional materials regarding traffic rules were also distributed to the children.
