U.T. Chandigarh, September 18, 2024: In a series of impactful community initiatives, U.T. Chandigarh has successfully conducted various activities focused on health, nutrition, and well-being. 1. Youth Group Meeting on Water Conservation and Health A dynamic youth group meeting was held in Bapu Dham, NGO Humanitarian Vision Foundation was also present. The event focused on promoting water conservation and the importance of healthy eating, encouraging young participants to adopt sustainable practices. 2. Celebration of Poshan Maah: In Maloya, a vibrant event celebrating the coming of age under Poshan Maah was organized, engaging children and women in activities that promote nutrition and health awareness. 3. Sports Day at Ramdarbar: Ramdarbar witnessed a lively Sports Day as part of Poshan Maah celebrations. Supervisor Manjit Kaur delivered an enlightening lecture on the significance of sports in life, followed by engaging games for children aged 3 to 6 years. 4. Educational Lectures across 450 Anganwadi Centres: Comprehensive educational lectures were delivered across 450 Anganwadi Centres, covering essential topics such as the right age for schooling, cleanliness, nutrition for nursing mothers, iron-rich foods for pregnant women, appropriate marriage age, and food fortification. 5. Awareness Sessions on Immunization and Education: Targeted awareness sessions highlighted the critical importance of immunization, education, and Vitamin A doses for children, ensuring parents are informed about their children's health needs. 6. Yoga for Physical Well-Being: All Anganwadi Centres hosted yoga sessions aimed at promoting physical fitness and overall well-being among participants, fostering a culture of health and mindfulness. 7. Home Visits for New Mothers: Dedicated home visits were conducted for mothers of newborns, providing personalized support and guidance to promote maternal and infant health. These initiatives reflect the commitment of U.T. Chandigarh to foster a healthier community through education, engagement, and empowerment.
