
Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana and National Bamboo Mission
Una, September 17 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal held a meeting of officers on Tuesday and thoroughly reviewed the progress of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana and National Bamboo Mission in the district. Along with taking details of the effective implementation and progress of both the schemes, he also gave necessary guidelines for future work.
Una, September 17 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal held a meeting of officers on Tuesday and thoroughly reviewed the progress of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana and National Bamboo Mission in the district. Along with taking details of the effective implementation and progress of both the schemes, he also gave necessary guidelines for future work.
So far 6802 applications have been received under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana
While presiding over the meeting of the District Implementation Committee under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a total of 6802 artisans' online applications have been received on the PM Vishwakarma portal till August 30, 2024. Out of these, the first phase verification process of 1575 applications has been completed. These applications include 139 applications for tailoring work and 1138 applications for mechanic work. Apart from this, the process of document verification for the remaining 298 applications of different trades has been completed and sent for further processing.
Jatin Lal said that the objective of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is to empower the social and economic status of traditional artisans and handicraftsmen. He said that this scheme will provide various types of assistance to encourage the development and growth of their businesses. Under the scheme, artisans will be provided financial assistance, technical training, and marketing support.
Instructions to form a district committee for the operation of the National Bamboo Project
In a meeting with the concerned district officials regarding the National Bamboo Mission, the Deputy Commissioner directed to constitute a committee at the district level to run the National Bamboo Project under construction at Ghandawal smoothly. He informed that various equipment will be purchased from the amount of Rs 10 lakh received under this mission. He asked the DFO to prepare bamboo nursery of different species in the Ghandawal campus so that the availability of high quality bamboo can be ensured to the people at one place. Apart from this, he gave proper guidelines for the work of boundary wall of the project premises, laying paver tiles in the premises and installing 10 solar lights.
On this occasion, Joint Director Industries Anshul Dhiman, BDO Una KL Verma, PO DRDA Shaifali Sharma, Deputy Director Agriculture Kulbhushan Dhiman and RFO Rahul Thakur along with other senior officers were present.
