
Red Cross conducted a seminar on First Aid Day
Nawanshahr - A seminar on "First Aid" was conducted today under the inspirational leadership of Hon'ble Secretary Sardar Shivdular Singh Dhillon IAS Rita Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh Red Cross De-addiction Center Nawanshahr. The program was chaired by Mrs. Taranpreet Kaur, Principal. Addressing the event Mr. Chaman Singh Project Director said that "First Aid Day" is celebrated on every second Saturday of September every year.

Long events are held in connection with this week. This year's theme is "First Aid and Sports". First aid is an emergency measure that consists of simple life saving measures that anyone can learn to apply without any prior medical knowledge. This year organizations are encouraged to highlight the role of first aid in ensuring productive and enjoyable sporting events for all, from athletes to spectators and other stakeholders. Various first aid conditions are cardiac arrest, bleeding, suffocation, burns, blisters, broken bones/fractures, sprains, runny nose, frostbite, snake bite, bee sting etc.
Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur (Counselor) expressed her views. He gave a practical demo of CPR (a first aid technique used in cardiac arrest emergencies).
Mrs. Sonia Angreesh, CWC, Nawanshahr thanked the Red Cross team.
Deepak, teachers and students from Red Cross were present on this occasion.
