Petrol-diesel expensive in Punjab, partial reduction in electricity subsidy

Chandigarh, September 5- Petrol and diesel prices have increased in Punjab. Today, the VAT of petrol and diesel has been increased in the Cabinet meeting under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Chandigarh, September 5- Petrol and diesel prices have increased in Punjab. Today, the VAT of petrol and diesel has been increased in the Cabinet meeting under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Punjab Cabinet has increased VAT by 61 paise on petrol and 92 paise on diesel. According to the information received, with this increase, the state government will collect Rs. 392 crores from diesel and Rs. 150 crores from petrol.
Along with this, the cabinet has also withdrawn the subsidy given to domestic electricity consumers with a load of up to 7 KW. They were being given electricity at Rs 2.50 per unit under subsidy. This scheme was implemented by the previous Congress government when Charanjit Singh Channi was the Chief Minister.
