Patiala, August 30 - An elderly man was beaten to death by father and son over panchayat land in Devi Nagar village of the district. Elderly Swaran Singh, who was injured in the attack, was admitted to Rajindra Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The police officials have registered a case of murder against Kuldeep Singh and his father Mukhvir Singh after recording the statement of the deceased's son Amarjit Singh. An accused Kuldeep Singh has been arrested in this case.
 According to the statements of Amarjit Singh, he had piled straw on the village panchayat land, where other people of the village had also kept the goods. Mukhvir Singh's son used to talk about building a stadium at this place. These people had put this proposal many times in the panchayat. Mukhvir Singh's son spoiled the pile of straw. On Wednesday evening, when the deceased Swaran Singh complained to Mukhveer Singh about his son's behavior, there was a tug-of-war between the two, until Kuldeep reached there and attacked Swaran Singh with sticks. Swaran Singh died in the hospital. Pasiana police station SHO Karanveer Singh has said that a case of murder has been registered and the accused has been arrested. After the post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the heirs.
