Una, August 31 - The dreams of 25-year-old Amanjot Singh of Santoshgarh in Una district had once faded. Covid-19 dashed his plans to go abroad, and the uncertainties of the future had shaken his spirits. But in that darkness, the Himachal government's Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Yojana became a ray of hope for him, which gave a new direction to his life.
With the help of this scheme, Amanjot not only gave wings to his dreams but also gave up the idea of ??going abroad and set up his business at home and wrote an inspiring success story by opening a wonderful restaurant named 'Jannat'. Such a wonderful story which has become a great example of youth enterprise and a source of inspiration for countless youth with a wonderful combination of taste, self-employment and government support.
Amanjot Singh has opened a restaurant named 'Jannat' on the highway near petrol pump in Mazara, Santoshgarh, where you can enjoy delicious North Indian dishes.
Flight of dreams
After completing BA Maths from Una College in the year 2020, Amanjot was preparing to go abroad. For this purpose, he also joined IELTS coaching in Chandigarh, but the outbreak of the Corona epidemic spoiled his plan. He returned from Chandigarh. In that difficult period, he started a small restaurant by renting a big hall in Santoshgarh. With hard work and prayers, it worked out. The initial success in this work inspired him to do it on a larger scale.
Support of Chief Minister's Swavalamban Yojana
Amanjot read about the Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Yojana in the newspaper one day and made it a means to fulfill his desires. He took a loan of Rs 60 lakh under the scheme, in which he got a subsidy of Rs 15 lakh from the government. The rest of the help came from the family. He started 'Jannat' restaurant on 18 October 2023 by building on his ancestral land.
He says that the restaurant is currently earning around 75 thousand rupees a month. He is sure that as the work increases, the income will also increase. Then he will expand it further. He has not only created self-employment for himself but has also provided employment to 9 other people.
Thanks to CM and Deputy CM for making dreams come true
Amanjot never tires of expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri for the help he received from the Himachal Government in fulfilling his dreams. He says that the Chief Minister Swavalamban Yojana of the Himachal Government is a boon for the youth who want to start their own business. During this conversation, the grateful happiness on his face and the satisfaction arising from self-employment were clearly visible.
The joy of parents
He said...it is a great relief that my son has given up his insistence on going abroad
Amanjot's mother Sukhwinder Kaur and father Ranjit Singh, who works in the police department, are very happy with their son's success. Amanjot is their only son and they are very satisfied that due to the help received from the Chief Minister Swavalamban Yojana, their son gave up his insistence on going abroad. Today Amanjot is living a happy life with his family.
It is indeed heartening to know that the Chief Minister Swavalamban Yojana has become an example of stopping the migration of youth from the state and making them happy by providing them employment opportunities at home.
