Sanskrit and Cultural Festival

Today, a Sanskrit and Cultural Festival was organized by the Sanskrit Department of Panjab University, Chandigarh. The program began with a Sanskrit welcome song. First-year M.A. students Akanksha, Sapna, and Khushi expressed their thoughts on the divine language Sanskrit. Research scholar Ritu sang a Sanskrit song, and research scholar Prakash recited a Sanskrit shloka. First-year M.A. student Sahil also recited a shloka.

From the Dayanand Chair, Anshul and Sandeep also shared their views on the Sanskrit language and culture. Additionally, a Sanskrit Shloka Antakshari, based on the shlokas of the Gita, was organized today. Dr. Vikram, a faculty member of the department, expressed his thoughts on Indian culture and Sanskrit. In this context, Dr. Tomir Sharma said that throughout history, foreign invaders have destroyed our culture time and again, and we need to revive it. Dr. Sunita Devi stated that to understand Indian culture, it is essential to know Sanskrit, which is not just a language but a way of life. Similarly, the head of the department, Prof. V.K. Alankar, clarified the doctrine of reincarnation propounded by Dayanand Ji and mentioned that in the Mahabharata, Arjuna asked a question, and in response, Shri Krishna narrated the Gita. Hence, we should also ask questions and cultivate a curious nature. The entire program was conducted by Dr. Vijay Bhardwaj.
