2 lakh 81 thousand 470 rupees recovered from three gold cases caught during checking

During the inspection, gold jewellery and biscuits were found without bills in three cases and action was taken as per the rules under the GST Act.

Una, July 29 - The State Tax and Excise Department Una inspected various vehicles during special checking at the departmental check post Gagret and its adjoining areas a few days ago. During the inspection, gold jewellery and biscuits were found without bills in three cases and action was taken as per the rules under the GST Act. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner State Tax and Excise Department Una Vinod Singh Dogra. He said that the total amount of gold caught in the cases is 664 grams, whose total value amounts to Rs 46 lakh 12 thousand 400. Taking strict action, the department imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh 81 thousand 470, which was recovered on the spot. During the inspection, ASTO Narender Pathania, assistant Bal Krishna and driver Jatinder Singh were present.
Vinod Dogra said that the department is keeping a close watch on the goods being brought from outside the state. He said that under Section 30 of the GST Act, it is mandatory to issue a bill on the sale of goods worth more than Rs 200 and e-bill is mandatory for transporting goods worth more than Rs 50 thousand. The department has requested all types of traders to keep complete documents related to purchase and sale in future such as original purchase/sale, e-way bill with the transportation of goods, otherwise action will be taken by the department as per rules.
