
Trials conducted at Government Arts and Sports College
Jalandhar - The Cycling Federation of India is conducting a talent identification program for the purpose of encouraging youth for sports at the grassroots level. Under which the trials of Jalandhar district were successfully completed at Government Arts and Sports College, Jalandhar, in which boys and girls (12 to 14 years) of district Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh participated.

Under which the trials of Jalandhar district were successfully completed at Government Arts and Sports College, Jalandhar, in which boys and girls (12 to 14 years) of district Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh participated.
Giving information in this regard, the convener of talent identification program and Maharaja Ranjit Singh awardee Jagdeep Singh Kahlon thanked the district administration and especially Deputy Commissioner Mr. Himanshu Agarwal for the support received for the success of this program. Mr. Kahlon said that under the able leadership of Mr. Onkar Singh, Secretary General, Asian Cycling Confederation and Mr. Maninderpal Singh, Secretary General, Cycling Federation of India, a talent identification program is being conducted in the whole of Punjab. The main purpose of which is to connect the youth with sports and especially cycling so that cycling can be promoted in Punjab.
Under this, after selecting the players, they will be sent to the academies of the Cycling Federation of India, where their accommodation, food, training, sports equipment will be provided free of charge. Mr. Kahlon said that selection is to be done through youth trials from all the districts of Punjab and the selected players will be sent for the final trials in Delhi. Standing broad jump, high jump (vertical) and boys' 1600 meters and girls' 800 meters were conducted in these trials.
