The teams of the health department checked the stagnant sources of water and destroyed the larvae

Patiala, July 19 - As part of the Friday-Dry Day campaign being conducted by the Health Department for the prevention of dengue and chikungunya every week, as per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Goyal, the teams of the District Health Department are conducting activities in Bandugar, Jai Jawan Colony, Mehr of the city.

Patiala, July 19 - As part of the Friday-Dry Day campaign being conducted by the Health Department for the prevention of dengue and chikungunya every week, as per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Goyal, the teams of the District Health Department are conducting activities in Bandugar, Jai Jawan Colony, Mehr of the city. Standing water sources were checked for dengue larvae in Singh Colony, Soudwala Mohalla, Anand Nagar B, Bajwa Colony, Ghuman Nagar, etc. Civil surgeon Dr. Sanjay Goyal said that if there is any kind of fever, it should be ensured that the examination is done, which is done free of cost in the government health institutions. He said that dengue is a viral fever that is spread by the bite of the Aedes mosquito during the day. This mosquito is born in clear standing water. He appealed to the common people to destroy the broken pots lying on the roofs or yards of their houses, make sure to clean pots, old tyres, coolers, refrigerator trays to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes. District Epidemiologist Dr Sumeet Singh said that under the Friday-Dry Day campaign, the health department teams reached 34368 houses in different areas of the district and checked for dengue larvae. And the larvae found in 203 places were destroyed on the spot by the teams. He also said that till now more than 3,22,845 houses have been surveyed by the health teams under the Dry Day campaign. In which 883 larvae found at the spot have been destroyed by the teams on the spot and the concerned families have been made aware about the rescue.
