Green election made part of electoral process to reduce carbon emissions and pollution - Dr Hira Lal

Pollution free tools are being used in the activities during the election process. General Election Observer Dr Hira Lal said that the Election Commission is working hard to turn the slogan of holding green elections into reality on the ground. Minimum use of plastic is being ensured during training, team departure, return and counting centers to reduce carbon emissions during the selection process. On the day of polling, arrangements are being made for the necessary facilities for the voters at the polling booths and separate plantations are also being arranged. So that voters coming to vote can take the saplings found at the polling booths to their homes and plant these saplings in their houses and fields. He said that even a sapling planted by us will strengthen the concept of green election.
He said that efforts are being made to increase the voting percentage during the elections. General Observer Dr. Hira Lal said that in 1920, when he was a District Magistrate in Banda (Uttar Pradesh) district, he became famous at the national level by increasing the voter turnout by 10.5 percent in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that there is a need to work at the ground level to increase the vote percentage in the elections. He appealed to all the residents of the constituency to cooperate in holding green elections and strengthen democracy by voting. Officials and employees of various departments were also present on this occasion.
