Enthralling Evening of Kathak Delights Audience at PGIMER Chandigarh's Bhargava Auditorium

The Bhargava Auditorium at PGIMER Chandigarh witnessed an extraordinary celebration of classical dance as it hosted a captivating Kathak performance jointly organised by the Chandigarh Chapter of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) and the Institute Cultural Committee, PGI, under the guidance of Prof. Reena Das.

The audience was captivated by the performance of the renowned Kathak maestro, Pt. Rajendra Gangani, representing the illustrious Jaipur Gharana, celebrated worldwide for its exceptional artistry. Pt. Rajendra Gangani, accompanied by his talented ensemble, transported the audience into the captivating realm of Kathak with his grace and finesse. Shri Vinod Gangani's soulful vocals and harmonium melodies, in harmony with Shri Kishore Gangani's rhythmic tabla beats and Shri Ravi Sharma's melodic sitar tunes, offered a truly immersive experience of artistic excellence. The evening was further enriched by Ms. Deepti Gupta's mesmerizing Kathak performance of Yashoda and Lord Krishna, captivating the hearts of all present.

The event paid tributeto the esteemed Pt. Rajendra Gangani through heartfelt short performancesled by Mrs. Jatinder Arora Nair and Dr. Sourav Das, whose dynamic footwork and emotive expressions in Kathak left the audience spellbound. Dr.Amruthendu'sMohiniyattam dance added to the enchantment of the evening, captivating hearts and elevating the overall experience.

Adding to the prestige of the event was the esteemed presence of Prof. R.K. Ratho,Sub Dean Research as the Chief Guest, along with many members of the Institute Faculty, students and staffand other Kathak loverseager to witness the maestro on stage.
