
A boat full of 30 school children sank in the river in Bihar, 20 rescued, 10 missing
Muzaffarpur, September 14 A major accident took place in the Bagmati river in Bihar's Muzaffarpur today. A boat full of school children sank in the river. The accident took place at 9.30 am in Beniabad OP of Gaighat police station area. There were 30 children on the boat. So far 20 children have been evacuated. 10 children are still missing.
Muzaffarpur, September 14 A major accident took place in the Bagmati river in Bihar's Muzaffarpur today. A boat full of school children sank in the river. The accident took place at 9.30 am in Beniabad OP of Gaighat police station area. There were 30 children on the boat. So far 20 children have been evacuated. 10 children are still missing. The SDRF-NDRF team has reached the spot along with Gaighat and Beniabad police. Rescue operation was started. The villagers present on the spot said that like every day, the children were going to school on the boat. There were 30 children on the boat. Due to the strong current, the boat lost its balance and overturned. After the accident, there was an uproar among the children in the boat. As soon as the information about the incident was received, a huge crowd of people gathered at the spot. An eyewitness from the village said that a boy saved two people. He again went into the river to save other people but due to the strong current he also drowned. The boat was carrying 9th and 10th class children who were going to school. Some people of the village were also on board the boat with children. Some people were going to work and some to get things. DM Pranav Kumar said that all the teams are engaged in defense. He said that our first priority is to evacuate people safely. SDO East Amit Kumar said that our main focus is on the safe evacuation of children. Among the drowned are children, women, youth and the elderly. The boat overturned on the shore, due to which many people escaped. The people of the place where the accident took place have been demanding a bridge for many years. People use boats for shortcuts. Children also go to school by boat to take a shortcut. On the other hand, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that instructions have been given to the DM and officials. Those who are injured, the government will help their families.
