With this machine the paddy stubble should be cut 4-5 inches above the ground and after treating the wheat seed, 45 kg seed/acre and DAP 65 kg/acre are used. Light water should be applied immediately after wheat sowing. It has also been observed that the wheat sown with this technique has less fall and due to being in the stubble field, the health of the soil is also improved and the weeds are also reduced. Farmer S. Balveer Singh told the Deputy Commissioner that he had been sowing wheat seeds successfully for the last three years with the support of the Agriculture Department after cutting paddy straw and cutting. And the results of the wheat harvest were satisfactory.
This year, the farmers have successfully sown 12 fields with the surface seeder scheme received by the department and the results are satisfactory. Chief Agriculture Officer S. Dapinder Singh ji told that if we sow wheat with surface seeder machine, the problem of paddy stubble can be effectively managed.
